It is with great sadness that we have to advise members that Julia Wilby died at her home in Brighouse on 23 April. Along with her husband, David (and sometimes in connection with their former business, “Concept Merchandising”) Julia was for long a great supporter of our annual “Hymnsing” events often defraying the totality of the professional fees and other expenses. She and David were at the 2017 “Hymnsing” in March. Both were stalwarts of Brighouse Central Methodist Church and of Overgate Hospice Choir from its very earliest days. There will be a service for Julia at Central Methodist this coming Tuesday morning 9 May at 10.30 followed by a Celebration of her life at Parkwood Crematorium at Noon and all are most welcome to attend. It is requested that bright colours be worn.
We should arrive at All Saints’ Church, Elland at 1.30 pm. The rehearsal will take place from 2.00 to 3.30/4.00. We are requested to sign the sheet to indicate our attendance at the rehearsal.
If we wish to sing in the concert we should attend at least 8 of the 10 rehearsals.
